Economy and Finance for a Just Future on a Thriving Planet
A report commissioned by the Swedish Ministry of Environment as an independent contribution to the Stockholm+50.
Fifty years have passed since the historic Stockholm conference in 1972, the first ever United Nations conference on the human environment. The world is a very different place today. Astounding progress in human well-being for many and technological breakthroughs have come at the cost of growing social inequality and an increasingly evident environmental crises.
Stockholm+50 offers a unique opportunity for the world to reflect on its progress and failures since 1972. This report presents our view of how economies and the financial sector can contribute to creating a more sustainable and just future.
